Why is it that the sight of neat little rows make me smile? How is it that I find something as simple as a clear glass storage container beautiful?
I’ve been needing to find a better way of organizing my pantry, especially since I’ve ditched the habit of shopping weekly in favor of shopping for two weeks at a time AND buying some extra things. I didn’t just run out and buy *whatever* though. I’ve been watching for the right kind of thing, that would really help, that I could afford, when I could afford it.
So when I found these beautiful glass storage containers for $2.50 each and these free-standing wire shelves for $1.00 each at our local Dollar General, I smiled. For $14.00 + tax I was able to get my pantry going in the right direction.
I still want to go back and get some more glass containers. I’d like to have several different kinds of rice, several different kinds of beans, and several different kinds of pastas. Storing them in these containers will keep out mice, bugs, and moisture. It will also make them easy to organize, find and use.
I also need to organize the above cabinet where I stick the extra stuff so that I can keep track of what I have, what I need and find what I need when I need it.
Tackle it Tuesday is hosted by 5 Minutes for Mom and made possible by moms everywhere who have something that needs to be tackled. What are you tackling?
Great post – I love organized pantry rows too. 🙂 Nice work!

Looks good!! One thing I do to save myself some hassle is write cooking directions on the back of containers if I’m taking things out of original packaging. This is especially helpful if you’ve got several different kinds of rice – my containers say something like “1c rice, 2c water, 25min” just to remind me of what I’m doing. I use a Sharpie since I don’t have a label-maker, and the Sharpie comes off with rubbing alcohol if I want to change what’s in a container.

Oh those glass containers are great! I’m inspired now to go pick up some. I have exposed shelving and I’m tired of the mis-matched cardboard boxes lining the shelf. Good tackle, good post!

Lookin Good! Those risers are great!
Well done! (I like the nice, neat little rows, too!!)
Happy Tackling!
I read the first 2 lines of this post, and I swear it was me talking. 🙂 I’m such a fan of neat, little rows and storage (especially see through) containers. You would think I could keep my pantry a little more organized since I love it so much, but that area still needs some work.
Your tackle looks great and I love the containers with rice, pasta, and beans. I think it makes the pantry look a little more pretty. Because shouldn’t all pantries be pretty? 🙂
