Okay, well, so.

I was really hoping that Week 9 would go out with more of a *bang!*, with it being the last week of the quarter and all.. but it didn’t. We were all SICK. AGAIN. We haven’t all dealt with this much illness this close together in quite some time. I guess we were due… =\

But even though we were all sick we still did math & grammar & we watched the History DVD series we rented from Netflix about Ancient Egypt. And that counts for something! One advantage/disadvantage of homeschooling is that sick days can still be used to get some basics done. ;0)

The kids also worked together to figure out how to assemble a little play tent from a yard sale. Which I totally counted as educational What? Hey, it was a sick day!

Still…there was a lot of laying around and watching movies and sleeping. I won’t deny that either. One thing that didn’t get done was GRADES. I had really hoped to draw up some little end of the first quarter progress reports. It helps with the family, ya know. It might motivate the kids, too, who knows?

All in all the sick week was kind of a bummer because we missed out on a trip to my mom’s house, during which we were supposed to go on a field trip or two. Such is life, I suppose. And seeing as how we’re still sick this week (yup, that’s right…) I have made an executive decision to bump the Fall Break coming up at the end of the month to this week. So this week? More sleeping and watching tv. And hopefully some housework. Hey – I can dream, can’t I??

I juuuuust missed the cutoff to link up at Weekly Wrap-Up at Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers but you can still head over there to check out some other blogs!

I’m also linking this to the Hip Homeschool Hop. If you’re new here — welcome!

Hey, y’all! I’m Amber and I wear many hats. I drink a ton of coffee and I’m constantly sweeping crumbs off the floor. After 20+ years of homeschooling, we are starting over at preschool with our fourth, Lil Miss Mouse. She keeps us young and she’s the main reason for my excessive coffee consumption. Drink up!
