Ever feel…. less than perfect? Like you need a redo? Like something isn’t quite working?
Let’s face it.. not every homeschool day is a blog worthy day. Some days (weeks) are just days that we’d like to forget, much less share with others! It’s s easy to blog about the good days and the things that do work for us. We don’t always want to talk about the things we’re not good at or the things that didn’t go well. We may not like to talk about them, but we can learn a lot about ourselves, our children and our homeschool style/needs by discovering that something DOESN’T work just as much as discovering something that does. Our failures and our weaknesses provide opportunities for growing and learning– as well as encouraging others.
You’re not alone. Most likely there is someone that has gone before! We can learn from these other homeschool moms who have discovered a homeschool deficiency and learned to adapt, overcome and succeed.
It’s with that purpose in mind, that I introduce:
10 Days of Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Homeschooling
10 Homeschooling, blogging moms share tips and resources for overcoming and surviving our bad days. Some of us aren’t crafty, some of us aren’t very hands on, some of us aren’t very good at math. We all have different strengths and weaknesses and maybe by collaborating together we can encourage each other on this not-so-easy homeschool journey.
Here you will find:
- Jeni from Peace & Carrots: Over- Planning & Over- Scheduling (And Getting Off Track)
- Michelle from Beautiful Mess : Organizing Grace Right OUT of Your Day (Too rigid for spontaneous learning?)
- Meg from Homeschoolin Mama : Teaching With Toddlers Under Foot (And teaching them, too.)
- Dawn W. from Guiding Light Homeschool : Switching Curriculum (Finding curriculum that fits.)
- Dana from Roscommon Acres & Me! (A joint effort.) : Keeping the school day fun. (Not cutting out all the fun stuff.)
- Marlene Griffith (a loyal Facebook fan!) : Not Stressing Over Doing Every Subject Every Day (You’re the Boss!)
- Dawn P. from The Momma Knows : Hands-Off History (For the not so hands on History Buffs..)
- Heidi Cooper from Torah Family Living : Hands-On Science, a.k.a. Chaos! (Getting past Science experiment hangups)
- Nicole from Fill My Cup : Help for the Not So Crafty! (How to be crafty if you’re really not..)
- Me! Classic Housewife : The nemesis named Math — Teaching Math (when you hate teaching Math.)
Any of these sound familiar?
