Want to Watch the Marvel Hero Movies in Order?

We have some superhero fans in this house. We are all pretty fond of Iron Man, and Thor is pretty cool, too. Well, so is Captain America. And Hulk. Okay, it’s hard to choose!

Yesterday we realized that our Netflix DVD queue was looking pretty sad–and we haven’t been staying on top of sending our movie back in and getting the next one for quite some time. (No wonder, if there’s nothing we are looking forward to getting!)

After thinking for a minute, my son and I had the idea to watch all the Marvel hero movies in order. (Not chronologically, but by publication date.) There are still a good many we haven’t seen, and several we have only seen once. All the kids are excited. Our family movie nights are going to be well stocked for a while!

So what IS the order? Well, here you go:

Marvel Hero Movies In Order By Release Date

Note: We decided to skip the Punisher movies, the Blade movies, Daredevil, Elektra, and Ghost Rider, for various reasons. 

• Captain America (1990) – Not available on Netflix, so we won’t be able to watch it, but noting that it goes here.
• Blade (1998) – Skipping
• X-Men (2000) – We own this one.
• Spider-Man (2002) – We own this one.
• Daredevil (2003) – Skipping
• X2: X-Men United (2003)  – We own this one.
• Hulk (2003) – Haven’t seen it. 
  
• The Punisher (2004) – Skipping
• Spider-Man 2 (2004) – We own this one.
• Blade: Trinity (2004) – Skipping
• Elektra (2005) – Spin-Off of Daredevil, skipping
• Fantastic Four (2005) – Have seen this one, but not in a long time.
  
• X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) – Borrowed from my parents. =) I don’t think we’ve seen it.
• Ghost Rider (2007) – Skipping
• Spider-Man 3 (2007) – We own this one.
• Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) – Haven’t seen this one. (Not available on Netflix at the moment.)
  
• Iron Man (2008) – We have this one. 
  
• The Incredible Hulk (2008) – I’m not sure if we’ve seen this one?
• Punisher: War Zone (2008) – Skipping
• X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) – Borrowed from my parents, we’ve seen it.
• Iron Man 2 (2010) – We own this one.
• Thor (2011) – We’ve seen this one.
  
• X-Men: First Class (2011) – Haven’t seen it.
• Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) – Haven’t seen it. 
  
• Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2012) – Skipping
• Marvel’s The Avengers (2012) – We’ve seen this one several times, really liked it!
  
• The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) – Haven’t seen it.
• Iron Man 3 (2013) – We own this one.
• The Wolverine (2013) – Haven’t seen it.
• Thor: The Dark World (2013) – Haven’t seen it.
• Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) – Haven’t seen it.
• The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) – Haven’t seen it.
• X-Men: Days of Future Passed (2014) – Haven’t seen it. I didn’t even know there WERE this many X-Men movies.
• Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) – We’ve been wanting to see this one!
• Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) – Haven’t seen it.
• Ant-Man (2015) – Haven’t seen it.
• Fantastic Four (2015) – Another one?? Haven’t seen it, either.

I had no idea the list was going to be this long! And it looks like they aren’t going to be stopping any time soon.

After we work through the Marvel here movies, what should we add to our DVD queue next??
