Keeping Healthy Habits While On Vacation
How do you approach staying healthy while you’re on vacation? I ask because — I will be! Only two more days until I fly off to Baltimore for the Apologia Real Refreshment Retreat. I don’t plan to over analyze everything while I’m gone, but I do plan to remember that I’m trying to say healthy while I enjoy myself. =)
I intend to try to get enough sleep, to try to drink enough water, to try to make healthier eating choices and only indulge in sweets in moderation, and not overeat.
What tips do you have to for staying healthy while you’re out of town?
My Healthy Habits Update
Last week I completely fell off the “no added sugar” wagon. I’m going to get back on that wagon until I get to the retreat, and then I’m going allow some moderated sugar, but no mindless eating!
I was allowing myself to sleep late while I was sick and now I’m working on getting back to my 6:30 wake time — scratch that!! FIVE A.M. WAKE TIME. I’m going to be watching/homeschooling a little girl for the next couple of months while her mom works a temporary job. She’ll be here around 5 a.m. each morning. How’s that for accountability?
Adding some exercise in. My husband got a bug in his brain and decided to start walking/jogging around the property every morning. He’s asked me to join him! I said I would join him 2-3 times a week. Again, hello accountability!
That’s pretty much all I’ve got this week. I’ll be turning my attention to packing and getting ready to travel. See you next week!

I think the best thing to do while you’re are on vaca is protein for breakfast and get moving! There’s nothing worse than the carb crash while you’re sittin’ listening to a speaker! Have a blessed time.
I try to make sure I indulge only in things that are worth indulging in when on vacations. For instance I will have the piece of triple layer chocolate cake with amazing icing, but I won’t have a soda at lunch or the stale cinnamon roll the hotel offers for breakfast.
