It’s time for a quick Marriage Minute.
Last week I simply stated that we need to invest in our marriages. I didn’t talk about why, or how. Truthfully, that will look a little different for each of us anyway. It’s important to spend time trying to figure it out and put that time into our marriage relationship.
Proverbs 12:4 is one of those super-convicting, toe-stomping kinds of bible verses for me. It doesn’t mince words and it makes it plain: an excellent wife is like a crown, and a shameful one is like rottenness in the bones.
A ROTTENNESS IN THE BONES?? Yeouch! That’s the opposite of healthy, that’s like a cancer eating away from the inside. It’s not pretty.
What does that mean for us? For me, Proverbs 12:4 is a reminder that every day (every moment) I have a choice — for better or for worse. I often make bad decisions, but hopefully I make enough good ones to make up for them. I can choose to be a blessing to my husband, a crown, or I can choose to bring him down and be a curse.
It’s my choice. It’s your choice, too!
Choose to be a crown.
