In my life this week…
I’ve been busy catching up now that I’m feeling better and mostly recovered from my cold – both around the house and on the blog.. it feels good to be productive again. =)
In our homeschool this week…
We’re wrapping up! We’ve finished “Who is God,” we’re nearly finished with Apologia Anatomy… we’re um… not finished with math. (That will probably happen over the summer.)
I’m starting to think ahead to next year, I’m trying to not lose focus on the end of this year first. But the call of the books and the planning is strong, and I am weak. ;0) So I’m already starting to make check lists in my head and check things off as we work on our current work.
Today we have a book sale/swap with a group of local homeschoolers and I’m hoping to sell and/or find some things (that makes it even hard to avoid thinking about planning for next year.) =p
Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…
Plan enough, but not too much. ‘Nuff said. ; )
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
This weekend we’ll have lots of going and seeing. We have an event at the town square, supper with my inlaws, lunch with my mom, fireworks with friends… lots of fun planned for the weekend — you?
My favorite thing this week was…
Two things:
Ladies Bible Study Tuesday evening.
Realizing that I really do have a mission (statement) for my blog, it’s been there all along, I just hadn’t really put it into words — and then giving it all to God. =)
Things I’m working on…
I know that I keep saying this (it’s true.) Still working on the ebook.
Got a review and giveaway going on right now, for a What’s in the Bible DVD, did you see that?
Cleaning! Using all my new found energy to catch up around the house.
I’m reading…
Still reading in Jeremiah, we’re now on Chapter 13 of “One Simple Act,” reading “Surrender” by Nancy Leigh DeMoss and a bunch of the other stuff in my sidebar. ; )
I’m grateful for…
Feeling better, air conditioning, Sonic Cherry Dr. Pepper, the kids, holiday weekends, family gatherings, good friends, role models and mentors, my husband…
I’m praying for…
LOTS. Colorado, friends, family, the blog, homeschool, provision,…
A photo, video, link, or quote to share…

Im so glad you’re feeling better. Moms never have time to get sick right!
We are still finishing school too. We ended up taking this week off but we’ll be right back at it next week!
No sick days! =p But fortunately it does get easier to have “sick” days as the kids get older! Yay for older kids! =)
I’m thankful for air conditioning too! I like the warm weather, but 100 is a bit too warm for me.
AGREED. I told a friend today that every single degree above a hundred is just not necessary. =p
Our house still gets too warm, even with our window ac’s.. but it would be so much worse without them. So I’m definitely thankful! =)
So good to hear you’re getting better! I think we are going to head to the local church’s festival this weekend. Water slides, bounce houses, fireworks, good fellowship… sounds good to me 😉 Have a great weekend!
Thank you — you too!!
I am with you on the thinking ahead for next year!!
It’s just so hard not to! 😉
(And today I went to a local curriculum/book sale/swap.. and I came home with some things. Hehe.) =p
It stinks to be sick in the summer, but I’m glad it sounds like you have the energy back to begin next week! Do you begin in August or wait until after Labor Day?
I haven’t decided.. we’re supposed to do July off and start back in August.. the past two years we put it off until September because of a local ministry we were involved in. We’re not involved this year, so we could do August again (but I’m tempted to wait until September.) We should do August though. =)
You sound like my house! That decision was taken out of our hands because we enrolled in a charter school who has a family school, so we have to stick with their calendar – which means we begin on August 16. Thankfully, we can still stick to a six weeks on, one week off schedule and still get our 920 hours! I would love to wait until September though!
