This week there is a theme to the WFMW. Guess I oughta stick to the topic. 😛

So, Shannon, a loyal available store brand buyer like myself wants to know… which store brand items do we fork over the extra pennies for?

I had to think about it for a few minutes, but then I realized there are a few, though not many. For the most part, I really don’t care. Here goes (in the order that I think of them in):

#1 Borden 2% Milk Sandwich Cheese Slices – yeah, that’s a biggie. I have bought store brand cheese in the past. But it’s a toss up. Some are okay. Some are NOT. Also, the 2% makes them lower in fat and calories without tasting, um, less than pleasant. I like it. So I buy it. So there. 🙂

#2 Real Pepsi. Okay that’s not for me. I’ll drink anything carbonated that even remotely looks like a soda, unless it is red, purple, orange or some other color besides clear or caramel. However, Big Daddy drinks Pepsi. So Pepsi Big Daddy gets.

#3 Yoplait Gogurt for the kids. My kids won’t eat yogurt with pieces in it and Gogurt is completely smooth. Yogurt is a good source of calcium so I like them to have some from time to time. Plus, I love the fact that they can open them themselves and don’t even dirty a spoon. It’s handy.

#4 Pace Picante, the chunky. No specific reason, really, except that it just tastes better than the others and I like all the chunks of veggies. However, at some point I’m going to try my hand at making my own salsa and then Pace will just be out of luck.

#5 Name brand shampoo & Conditioner. Right now it’s L’Oreal Vive Pro. But I have a tendency to change after a while to something new. 🙂 I tried going with the cheaper brands for a while but when my hair went and got all curly, that option just went out the window. 🙁

So that’s all I can think of right now. There are probably a few more, but I know that when I check out, at least 90% of what I buy is store brand. There are a few things that I don’t mind the store brand of, but buy the name brand of if I have a little extra room in the budget, like JIF peanut butter, Daisy sour cream, and Mrs. Bairds bread. But mostly, I’m a penny pincher. Yup – that’s me. 🙂

Hey, y’all! I’m Amber and I wear many hats. I drink a ton of coffee and I’m constantly sweeping crumbs off the floor. After 18 years of homeschooling, I’m getting close to graduating my third child and now we are starting over at preschool with our fourth, Lil Miss Mouse. She keeps us young and she’s the main reason for my excessive coffee consumption. Drink up!
