I confess, I’m one of those weepy saps that is sorry to see all the Christmas decorations packed away for another year. I love this time of year, the holidays, the decorations – and my favorite is my tree – as evidenced by my tree ornament addiction.
I’m sad to see them go, but it must be done. I need the space in my living room back, and Big Daddy would NOT like having a Christmas tree year round. So away they go.
My mother was telling me the other day that she used a WHOLE box of 100 ornament hooks when decorating her tree this year – and it’s not NEAR as full as mine, she says. Which got me thinking: Just HOW many ornaments DO I have on my tree?? And that got me thinking: LET’S HAVE A CONTEST!
Contests are fun, and just what I need to help me enjoy taking everything down. Today, I tackle the tree. I will take it all down. And as I do, I will count the ornaments. Every single one.
And you, you, will guess.

So here’s my tree, Christmas Eve before I went to bed (no ornaments have been added, but I can’t promise one or two haven’t been taken away – I have a toddler!! Wow, it looks like you have layers or ornaments. I can tell you that we have a tiny 4 foot tree, and a very curious 12month old…we had exactly one ornament/tree topping bow and a long robbony swirl. It made putting thing away fast and easy though.
My guess is 147 ornaments.

Km – yes, you can lovingly place A LOT of ornaments on a tree.
Rebecca – ours is a six foot tree. Even though we have a curious toddler, I’ve always still decorated the tree. I just switched to non-breakables and we continue to RE-decorate the tree all throughout the month. 😛
Oh How fun! I’ll play along. It’s a beautiful tree by the way. I am going to guess 168 ornaments. You’d be amazed at how many ornaments you can shove, I mean lovingly place on a tree lol.

You do know that the 12 days of Christmas starts on 12/25. That is how the song came about. People rush the Christmas season. We don’t put our tree up so soon. We wait until the 2nd week of Dec.

Yes, I do, and we usually leave out tree up until January 6th. But I’ve decided not to this year. On the other hand, we HAVE had it up ALL month. It’ not like we’ve only had it up a few days. 😉
