Back to the Grind, er, School Day

Vacations are so great. It’s nice to unwind and not worry about.. anything. The downside of vacations is getting back into the swing of the school routine. We don’t want to. We rail against it.

Why can’t we just float along like we have for the past four days?

Of course it’s not all about the books. Yes. There is book knowledge to be learned. But there is another piece to that puzzle and we all need to know how to vacation when it’s time to vacation and work when it’s time to work. There are things around the house that need to be done.

There is book work to be done.

There is a time for everything.

And when it’s time, it should be done.

We shake off the residual feeling of vacation like a warm lotion on the skin, we pull on our imaginary workboots and tie those pretend strings up tight. We roll our sleeves up and jump in with vigor. And if there’s resistance? A shock and awe attack on unpacking and putting away the luggage is a good place to start.

Followed by heavy missile fire on dirty laundry before the troops move in for the kill on school work.

What? Don’t look at me that way. Sometimes you just need a “GET IT DONE” kind of attitude to..well….get it done.
