As I mentioned yesterday… I like to make lists.
Big, ambitious, over-achieving lists.

Some of the the things I want to do in 2011 are activities and projects but some of them are habits that need to be worked on. I think I read somewhere once that it takes 2 or 3 weeks to create a habit.

I’m pretty sure it takes me at least a month.

Enter the “3 in 30” challenge, thanks to Meghan and Ashley. So with a little bit of support and accountability, I’m ready to make 3 habits this month. Are you?

Here are the 3 habits I’m going to work on for January:

1.) Get back to a morning routine of “coffee with God” (coffee, my bible & prayer). I have no idea if I’m going to be able to keep up but I’m also going to join in the Bible in 90 Days beginning on January 3rd. That’s like, DOUBLE accountability or something. 😉

2.) Get all the dishes and laundry done before going to bed. I did this for about a week in mid-November. It was so nice! My day ran so much more smoothly when I woke up with no dishes or laundry to do. Then Thanksgiving threw a kink into it (I let it) and it’s been hit or miss since then.

3.) Start using my home management binder again, daily. I need to update it and re-organize it first, so I’m going to start working on the first two right away and spend this week getting the binder ready for use by next Monday.

All three of these goals further my pursuit of a smooth running, well oiled home. These three goals are also in keeping with my One Word for 2011 – “Well-Functioning.” (I’m looking a better, snazzier sounding word for that, by the way, if you think of one.) ;0) Got any suggestions?

Hey, y’all! I’m Amber and I wear many hats. I drink a ton of coffee and I’m constantly sweeping crumbs off the floor. After 18 years of homeschooling, I’m getting close to graduating my third child and now we are starting over at preschool with our fourth, Lil Miss Mouse. She keeps us young and she’s the main reason for my excessive coffee consumption. Drink up!
