13 Songs I Listened To In 1993

Thirteen songs I listened to, in no particular order, my freshman year in high school. Come along with me as I time warp us back to 1993.

  1. I Will Always Love You – Whitney Houston
  2. Can’t Help Falling In Love  – UB40
  3. Hero – Mariah Carey mariahcarey
  4. I Have Nothing – Whitney Houston
  5. A Whole New World – Peabo Bryson & Regina Belle
  6. I’d Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That) – Meat Loaf
  7. Ordinary World – Duran Duran
  8. Have I Told You Lately – Rod Stewart
  9. I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) – The Proclaimers
  10. Bed of Roses – Bon Jovi
  11. One Last Cry – Brian McKnight
  12. In the Still of the Nite – Boys II Men
  13. If I Ever Fall In Love – Shai

Is it just me or was 1993 the year of the love song? Or maybe it was just the songs I was listening to. =P

#9 I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) – The Proclaimers

I LOVE THAT SONG! 😀 The rest? My tastes tended toward…. more…. LOUD…. guitars…. bass…. yeah, well your music is a tad more mellow. And you’re way younger than me! I had a 1 year old in 1993!

Momma Knows – LOL! I got into the loud music later. Perhaps sometime I’ll make a list of the songs I listened to later in high school. 😉
The great thing about the internet – there are no age barriers. =)

JenT – Heh, I just realized, I was a freshman 92/93 and I began my freshman year at 13 until I turned 14 in September. I should have done 13 songs I listened to when I was 13 in 1992. =P Oh well. =)

What?! No Celine Dion? She was getting kinda big that year… remember “The Power of Love”? That was a good one. I do like your list. I was in junior high that year, but definitely jammed to most of those.

okay, alittle jealous as I graduated high school in 93, but I would add These are the Days (10,000 maniacs)

Davina – I thought about that, too, later. I pulled up a list of top 100 songs on the charts in 1993 and scrolled through for ones I knew I listened to and loved. She must not have made it to the top of the charts that year – or that list was wrong – I dunno. 🙂

Oh, and P.S. – I still catch myself singing The Power of Love every now and then. 🙂

Ha! I was in junior high, but I listened to most of these too! Loved I’d Do Anything for Love, but I realize I have no idea what “I Won’t Do That” is about! Here’s hoping it was all appropriate since we used to sing it while walking laps in PE..!

Well, that really dated me. I was a sophomore in college when you were a freshman in high school. I didn’t think I was that much older than you. (sigh) And, I am older than all the commenters also. ugh!
